The Hands Behind
Every Murti

At KARIGAROFFICIAL, we do not manufacture statues — we commission devotion. Every marble murti that leaves our Jaipur workshop has passed through the hands of an artisan whose family has carved stone for generations.

The Craft

People, Not a Production Line

Every marble murti that leaves our Jaipur workshop has passed through the hands of an artisan whose family has carved stone for generations — people who understand not just the technique, but the theology behind every form they create. These are their stories.

01 · Ganesha & Hanuman Specialist

Praveen Ji

Master Sculptor · 45 Years Experience

Praveen Ji has spent 45 years giving form to the divine. His specialty is Ganesha and Hanuman — two deities whose iconography demands exceptional precision. The 32 classical forms of Ganesha, the exact position of every mudra, the curl of every trunk — he has carved each variation hundreds of times. Yet he approaches each new piece as if for the first time.

"The stone already holds the deity inside it. My work is simply to remove what does not belong."
Speciality: Ganesha (all 32 classical forms), Panchmukhi Hanuman, Bajrang Bali

02 · Radha Krishna Specialist

Jairaj Ji

Gold Leaf & Painting Master · 18 Years Experience

Jairaj Ji is the painter and gold leaf master of our workshop. Where other artisans work in stone, he works in light — applying 24-karat gold leaf by hand, layer by layer, to bring luminosity to a carved form. His Radha Krishna pieces are known for their warmth and intimacy.

He has spent 18 years perfecting the balance between ornamentation and restraint — knowing when more gold serves the deity, and when silence in the finish does.

Speciality: Gold leaf work, hand painting, Radha Krishna, royal finish murtis

03 · Every Deity, Every Marble

Mahendra Ji

All-Round Master Sculptor · 30 Years Experience

Mahendra Ji is the foundation of our workshop. With 30 years of experience across every deity and every marble type, he is the artisan we turn to when a commission demands versatility and reliability in equal measure. He has carved Shiva, Vishnu, Lakshmi, Ram Darbar, and countless custom commissions — each with the same steady hand.

His knowledge of marble — how it behaves under different chisels, how grain direction affects fine detail work — is unmatched in our team.

Speciality: All deities, large-format temple pieces, custom commissions

Rishi Ji

Fine Detail Specialist

Rishi Ji works at a scale most sculptors avoid. Where others finish, he begins — the fine incised lines of a deity's crown, the delicate petals of a lotus base, the filigree of a garland carved directly into stone. His work is what separates a KARIGAROFFICIAL murti from a mass-produced idol.

He uses chisels no wider than a match head. He works by natural light. He refuses to rush — a single ornamented piece can take several days of focused work, and every hour shows in the finished murti.

Speciality: Fine detail carving, jewellery ornamentation, stone inlay, crown and garland work

Black Marble Specialist
05 · Kali Maa & Tantric Forms

Manish Ji

Black Marble Specialist

Manish Ji works exclusively in black marble — Bhainslana stone from Rajasthan — and his specialty is Maa Kali and the more intense tantric forms of the goddess tradition. Black marble demands different tools, different technique, and a different understanding of how light interacts with a dark stone surface.

His Kali Maa pieces carry a presence that devotees describe as immediate and unmistakable — an intensity that comes from deep familiarity with the iconographic tradition he serves.

Speciality: Black marble (Bhainslana), Maa Kali, Chamunda, tantric goddess forms
The Difference

Why Each Murti Carries Their Signature

Named artisans, decades of craft, and a workshop that has never confused speed with devotion.

01

Named, Not Anonymous

Every murti is traceable to the artisan who carved it — not a factory floor, a person.

02

Decades of Specialisation

Each artisan has spent 18 to 45 years mastering specific deities and techniques, not everything at once.

03

One Piece at a Time

No molds, no batch production. Each statue is hand-finished individually, start to finish.

04

Generational Technique

Skills passed down through families of sculptors in Jaipur — knowledge that predates the workshop itself.
